You need to try downloading again. Maybe one of the files got corrupted while you downloaded it.
We downloaded and checked the video again. It is all working OK.

Hiya!
Sorry to know you are having a problem.
No there is no renaming required. the .rar files you extract with winrar or winzip or similiar.
the files ending with .001, .002 etc. you put all in the same folder and join with HJSplit to get the complete video file.
Rapidshare has a limitation of 100 MB max size of a file, that is why bigger videos are in parts.
If you still have a problem, then you need to give us details of what is happening and what you are doing.
The files are OK, maybe you are missing doing something somewhere.

i have had the same problems as i expected to have dowloaded splittet archives. (you can split an archieve as well without using hj-split– its an option in winrar itself)
Now i used hjsplit and it works perfekt.
I suppose you would give a short text that the downloader should use HJSlit (www.freebyte.com/hjsplit) instead of triing to use winrar as I did.

About using HJSplit, we have our own reasons. Using two programs togather, HJSplit + WinRAR, somehow confuses the link killing bots that are now crawling the web daily, and files survive for longer. This has been our experience.
We will make another page on how to use our files. And will request help from you for translation in German as well. Thanks for the nice advice!
